The gift machine is an indie pop psych-rock quartet (and sometimes more) currently based in North County San Diego and also with a long history in the Pacific Northwest.

Helmed by  songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Dave Matthies (who says this ship has a rudder), the band features Dave's wife Andrea Matthies on drums and vocals, Dan Chambers on guitar, keyboards, and background vocals and Felipe "Phil" Benavides on bass and background vocals.
